Goldman had 3 RBI in a 2-2 Effort at the Plate
LACONIA, NH- Team Maine 14U Gold was on the verge of a dominant comeback when time constraints cut their run short. Rain forced a 60-minute drop dead time limit for elimination games on the last day of the 2019 Fall into Chaos Tournament Sunday, October 27.
Lake Region Chaos Black had a strong first inning, collecting three singles and two walks. Lake Region managed to push four runs across the plate before Lily Lesieur retired the side, forcing a fly ball followed by two strikeouts. Lake Region was stopped at four runs after another strong inning on the mound from Lesieur combined with one inning from of work from Madeline Barrow. M. Barrow did not give up a walk and struck out two in the third.
The Mainers Julie Goldman, went 2 for 2 at the plate and knocked in all three runs with two outs and time running out. Lesieur, Lindsey Fox, and Lily Jordan each drew walks to load the bases up for Goldman. Goldman took the first pitch she saw and drove it down the left-field line, clearing the bases and putting the Mainers one run away from a tie.

Madeline Barrow walked up to the plate with the go-ahead run on second and the game-tying run at third. As M.Barrow stepped in the box, the time limit ran out, and the Mainers were cut short of an epic comeback win.
