Team Maine 14U Gold Takes Three

LACONIA, NH- Team Maine 14U gold went 3-0 at the 2019 Fall into Chaos tournament in Laconia, NH Saturday, October 26. With the three wins, the Mainers are now back to .500 with a 5-5 record. They will be seeded first and scheduled to play at 9:15 Sunday morning.

Game 1: 9-6 Win

The Mainers staked a 9-6 win in game one over Granite State Blue Elite (2 seed), setting the tone early, scoring all nine runs in the first inning. The entire line up showed tremendous patience at the plate, collecting 11 walks in three innings. Granite State threated with a comeback, but the Mainers solid defense and pitching halted them at six.

At the plate, Lindsey Fox, Lily Lesieur, and Kylie Myers each collected a hit while Madeline Barrow lead the team in walks with two.

Lily Lesieur pitched all three innings for the Mainers giving up six runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out four.

Game 2: 4-3 Win

Down to their final minutes, the Mainers scored the game-tying and winning run to claim an exciting 4-3 win over Lake Region Chaos Black (seed 5). The Mainers were down 3-2 in the fourth before setting up their timely comeback win.

Logan Arsenault and Victori Barrow had back-to-back walks to lead off the fifth inning to set their comeback in motion. Lily Chabot drove a single through the left side to score Arsenault and move V. Barrow to third. With the game-winning run at third, Lily Jordan stepped up to the plate and crushed a double to left-center to end the game.

Madeline Barrow pitched all five innings giving up five hits and three walks while striking out five.

Game 3: 10-1 Win

The Mainers stayed consistent over five innings to declare a 10-1 win over NH Lightning 14U Gold in their third and final game of the day. V. Barrow, Myers and Julie Goldman lead the Mainers with two hits a piece. Myers pushed two runs across the plate while V. Barrow and Goldman each had an RBI.

On the mound, M. Barrow hurled all four innings giving up four hits and no walks while striking out four. Barrow also helped her team at the plate with two walks and two runs scored.
